This Is It
I always felt like the album we need certain breaks away from the ‘aggressive’ sound I was so passionate about making. ‘This Is It’ was the perfect opportunity to show some versatility and make a real jam—my long time home boy Tommy Bumps (of Check Other) is a MC/Producer in a group called Check Other. Tommy and I have gone up against each other in some beat battles back in the day. When I heard this beat I practically begged for it because I knew some other folks were interested in it. I believe Rockaway added a live bass line that really made it dope. A singer by the name of Dannie Walker sang the hook Hollywood Floss’ “When The World’s Against You” on the ‘House of Dreams LP’—through that relationship she happily jumped on the song. Her voice is ridiculous! (prod. by Tommy Bumps)
